Grand Junction Off-Road camp site opens

Staff Report

A special events campground is now open in Grand Junction. The Camp, located at 171 Dike Road near Connected Lakes State Park, has 57 campsites just minutes from downtown Grand Junction and the Tabeguache and Lunch Loops Trail system.

“We wanted a convenient place for visitors of our outdoor recreation events to be able to stay and play,” said Kevin Bray, co-owner of The Camp. “We will be open in conjunction with numerous events throughout the year.”

The first event for The Camp will be the Grand Junction Off Road. The campground will be open May 26 to June 2 to accommodate visitors.

“All sites are primitive and we do not have RV hookups,” said Nate Porter, co-owner of The Camp. “We do supply temporary bathrooms, trash, and water service.”

The campsites are about 20-feet-by-40-feet and can accommodate tents, campers, and RVs.

“We are really excited to offer this space to people visiting our area,” Bray added. “It’s a perfect location with mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and great restaurants just minutes away.”
