GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Artspace & Open Studios presents a series of 11 informational seminars to help the art entrepreneur succeed in business. The series focuses on building management skills art entrepreneurs need to increase their marketing, build loyal patronage, create promotions and other strategic topics.
These sessions address participants' questions and concerns in handling common business problems by addressing the “how-to's” of sales, media relations, professional writing, portfolio development, social media, negotiations and pricing. By receiving valuable resources, tips, and handouts, entrepreneurs save time, money, and the support they need to advance their creative businesses.
The series takes place at Alpine Bank, 225 N. Fifth St., Room 205, in Grand Junction. Sessions run weekdays 5:30-7 p.m. and weekends 9:45-11 a.m. Artspace members have a choice of seminars for free. If a fee applies, it will range from $10-$20/person.
The arts community is invited to a free seminar Saturday, Jan 28, titled “Pricing Your Artwork.” Other sessions for nonmembers have a fee. Feb. 4: “Negotiating Deals & Sales” — Overcome objections and define a sales process to reach your optimal sales goals.

March 3: “Commissions & Public Art Programs” — Find resources and expertise from a panel of successful artists.
March 10: “Leveraging Social Media” — Hear how to use social media to your advantage and connect for business.
March 31: “Resumes, Artist Statements & Goal Statements” — Build professional presentations for galleries and online exhibit applications with solid career advice and examples.
April 21: “Business Space” — Discover the regulations, permits, and considerations that turn your home into a viable business operation.
April 28: “Writing Your Story For More Media Coverage” — Create a compelling storyline to share with more audiences.
April 30: “Expand Your Influence - Build Patronage” — Turn customers into patrons of your work and build security into your creative life.
