GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — While First Friday art hopping, people looking for a unique, hand-made gift might want to stop at the downtown neighborhood home of Christina Terrell, 1334 Grand Ave.
Terrell and her friend, Kaylan Robinson, decided to host an arts and crafts sale as an alternative way of shopping instead of going to the mall.
“There's such a strong art community here,” Robinson said. “I wanted to create a venue for that.”
Robinson, Terrell and at least seven others will be selling hand-made purses, photography and other artwork, knitted baby hats, hand-crafted jewelry and baked goods.
Some of the items, such as Robinson's jewelry, are sold at Pollux, 321 Main St. in Grand Junction. Robinson creates necklaces and earrings from new and vintage materials, including sometimes beadwork.
Other items for sale include custom pillow cases and mittens.
A big sign in the front yard will advertise the in-home sale, Robinson said.
The sale is from 5-8 p.m.
