GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Free Press Staff Writer Sharon Sullivan was invited to participate in the fourth Western Slope Honor Flight which departed Grand Junction Regional Airport Wednesday for Washington, D.C.
The whirlwind tour took approximately 100 western Colorado World War II veterans and their guardians to see the WWII Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima, Vietnam, and Korean War memorials and more.
Participants returned to a welcome-home celebration Thursday evening at the airport.
