GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The fourth annual Fruita Farm and Ranch Day is set for this Saturday, March 26.
This free event offers all types of information for anyone with ranch and agriculture interests. Get all your ranch questions answered, even simple ones as how to grow a backyard garden.
More than 30 vendors are slated to participate. Here's a tentative list of activities:
• 10 a.m. — Take the free class on gardening
• 11 a.m. — Take a class on landscaping
• Noon — Free lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs
• 1 p.m. — Learn how to can your own food
• 2 p.m. — Another gardening class
Throughout the day participants can also learn about beekeeping; how to keep your animals healthy; and how to help with those pesky mosquitos.
The event will have live animals including goats, horses, cats and dogs. And, to amuse the little ones, there will be a live horse that you can paint. Adults might enjoy the antique cars from Allen Vintage Motors, or a nice horse-drawn family wagon ride.
This year the event sponsors include Colorado State University, Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce, Fruita Co-op, Grand Valley National Bank and Rhino Engineering
