Why on earth the Free Press continues to give blind ideologue Kelly Sloan a podium is beyond me. His contention that Michael Bennet is not representing his constituents because he was supporting the public option in health care seems wholly inaccurate in that every reputable poll I ever saw showed both Coloradans and the rest of the country supporting the public option by over 70 percent margins.
Sloan's statement that the housing bubble was caused by micromanagement and regulations by the government is his serious opinion? Every accredited financial publication, economist, academia professor, mainstream media business editor, and governmental body attributed our housing catastrophe to free-candy mortgage lending, packaging as securities of such mortgages by investment bankers, fraudulent credit ratings from entities like Standard & Poors etc., abolished former Glass-Steagall regulations by the Congress, no oversight by the Bush administration's lackeys running the SEC and other federal agencies, and hedge fund gamblers riding the scam by betting profusely on the demises.
Surely, there are conservative voices in Grand Junction that can present their philosophy while still addressing realities.
