Christian Women's lunch
Grand Junction Christian Women's Connection Luncheon will be held at 12:15 p.m. March 11 at Two Rivers Convention Center; cost is $14.50. Speaker will be Jean Greene of Silverthorne speaking on “Pins or Needles? Acupuncture 101.” Must register by March 6, call 257-1719, child care funds are available, call 523-1904.
Respite night for special needs children
Respite night is held every other month at the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. Fifth St., the next one will be Friday, March 12, 5:30-9 p.m.
This is special night out for the special needs children as well as the parents. Siblings are invited also so parents can be away with no kids. There is always an adult volunteer matched to each child for the evening. Many friendships develop. Dinner is provided by the church and there are crafts and games, stories, artwork, singing and more! Call 242-0298 or 243-4509 to reserve a spot. If anyone is interested in starting a night for the in-between months, training is available. Contact Barb Harvey at 243-4509.
Lenten Bible study
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will begin a Lenten Bible study Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in the church library and continue through Easter.
The study is titled “Celebrate the Risen Christ” and follows the Lectionary Bible readings for each Sunday of Lent. The church is located at 1326 N. First St. Contact 242-7204 or gjdisciples.org for more information.
What is ‘Spiritual Direction'?
It can be described as Spiritual Companion, Spiritual Guide, Soul Friending, and Spiritual Life Coach. A panel of men and women who give spiritual direction will talk about what it means to them and how it might be helpful to others on the spiritual journey. This event will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 790 26 1/2 Road on Thursday, March 4, at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Whitewater Benedictine Sisters. Info: 241-3847.

Explore Jewish Roots of Bile “HaYesod” meaning “The Foundation.”
Ten study lessons that include: nature, purpose, function of scriptures and will explore unity of Jews and Gentiles in the Bible.

Fellowship Church, 765 24 Road, offers a Christ-centered 12-step program helping people heal from hurts, habits and hang-ups. Celebrate Recovery focuses on the future and looks forward, rather than wallowing in the past. There are several specialized groups offered that meet every Thursday night in Room 200 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. No charge. No need to pre-register unless you need childcare.
