One of the most important events in human history since the collapse of the Iron Curtain occurred late last month. But, if your only news sources are ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and the New York Times, then you surely missed it.
Long after all the lying conspirators have been laughed off the public stage, historians will record that everything changed on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. It happened on the scenic campus of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. One of the largest sites for global climate research is located on that campus; it is known as the Climate Research Unit. Someone transferred a zip file containing 160 megabytes of confidential documents and e-mails from the CRU's computer system to a server in Russia. Instantly, all of those document and e-mails were accessible to anyone on our planet with a PC and an Internet connection, and the biggest fraud in the history of science was exposed.
The first Earth Day celebration took place April 22, 1970. This was far more than just another reason for peace-niks and hippies to gather at the park, smoke dope, throw frisbees and litter. They were there to warn us of the rapid approach of a new Ice Age.
Environmentalist Nigel Calder warned, “The threat of a new Ice Age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind.”
C.C. Wallen of the World Meteorological Organization proclaimed, “The cooling since 1940 has been large enough and consistent enough that it will not soon be reversed.”
Al Gore's hero and mentor, Prof. Paul Ehrlich, predicted that global cooling would result in massive global starvation. He warned us that 65 million Americans would die of starvation between 1980 and 1989, and by 1999 the U.S. population would have declined to 22.6 million. But wait, it gets even better. Dr. Ehrlich made even wilder predictions about global cooling, “If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.”
Just five years after the first Earth Day, Al Gore and his Chicken Little Society decided to change their story. Rather than live in dread of global cooling, they decided we must start fearing global warming. This new disaster scenario quickly became a big hit with the public because it added the elements of human gluttony and guilt. By declaring that we were causing this calamity, they realized they could use it to advance their anti-capitalism, anti-American agenda and get rich in the process. This decision to lead the stampede in the opposite direction proved to be a stroke of genius. Look at the fortunes, the celebrity and the Nobel Prizes that have been won as global warming hysteria has grown into the monster that it is today.
For decades, many scientists have been demanding to see the data behind the global warming claims, but all such requests have been steadfastly denied. Perhaps the most startling and meaningful surprise revealed in the CRU e-mails was about all those requests for the data. If the global warming scientists were forced by the Freedom of Information Act in the U.S. or its equivalent in the UK to share their data with anyone outside their little club, they had very clear instructions from their leadership to DESTROY all the data rather than share it. Behold, that has now happened. Scientists at the University of East Anglia have admitted throwing away the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based. This means that no other academics can check their basic calculations to verify the claim that temperatures have been rising since the beginning of the industrial revolution. How convenient!
If Obama and other leftist leaders around the world are going to sign treaties and implement laws that will drastically change the fundamentals of our economy and transfer trillions of dollars from first world countries to third world countries, why shouldn't the data have been shared widely and studied carefully before such drastic measures are taken? The answer is obvious.
Global warming is simply a gigantic hoax. The secret e-mails and documents that appeared on that server in Russia make it very clear that the leading global warming scientists were cooking the data. They've long known their global warming story wasn't true, but they faked the data, defrauded us all, attacked their skeptics with vengeance, raked in millions of dollars for additional “research,” and became international celebrities.
Like all good con men caught in the bright lights of truth, America's proponents of global warming hysteria including Al Gore, Barack Obama, and all the TV networks except Fox, are trying to stick to the script, downplay these revelations, and continue to sell you the lie. They don't need much more time. Obama will be traveling to an international conference in Copenhagen in just a few days where he and other leftist leaders intend to commit you, your family and your business to a stringent energy rationing scheme that is all based on this fraud. Your energy consumption will then be limited and governed by U.N. bureaucrats who can't wait to jam it to the United States.
I encourage you to join me in notifying Mr. Obama that we will not let him use the global warming lie to sell us down the river in Copenhagen.
