Sauer will maintain and expand relationships within the community and beyond, enhancing partnerships and booking efforts for the recently renovated hotel.

Sauer brings to the Clarion Inn more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the car rental industry throughout the Western Slope. He also conceived and developed a successful concierge-based hotel referral business in Aspen.

• United Way of Mesa County announces that Zarlingo's Golf Cars and Fairplay Electric Cars will donate $500 for each Electric Vehicle Engineering (EVE) vehicle sold between now and Dec. 31. Additionally, the buyer will also receive a $4,234 tax credit on this year's taxes. A typical EVE vehicle sells around $7,000.

The EVE vehicle is a street-legal electrical vehicle that reaches a required speed of 20 to 25 mph and can be driven by a licensed driver on streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or lower for two passengers.
