Woman knocked over in Black Friday line

DENVER (AP) - Authorities in suburban Denver say an elderly woman was knocked over while trying to get into a store for a Black Friday sale but she wasn't seriously hurt.

The incident happened just after midnight Friday at a Toys R Us store in Arapahoe County where a crowd of people had gathered for the store's early opening. Sheriff's deputies say some people were arguing over their place in the line and a man bumped into the woman, knocking her to the ground.

She was treated for minor injuries at the scene and wasn't taken to the hospital.

Retailers tried to manage the crush of people waiting to get in for early morning sales. Shoppers entering a J.C. Penney store in Westminster at 4 a.m. had to slow down a bit to be able to take free Disney snow globes handed out by workers.
