A predicted winter storm looked like the real deal in downtown Aspen for about an hour Friday morning. Then, the snow stopped falling. Then, in the afternoon, it began dumping again.
A National Weather Service forecast calls for a chance of rain and snow, mainly after 5 a.m. and before 11 a.m. Saturday in Grand Junction.
Little or no snow accumulation is expected. The daytime high is forecast at 45 degrees with a low around 27.
Rain is forecast before 11 p.m. Saturday followed by snow. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible late Saturday or early Sunday.
The high Sunday is forecast near 42 degrees.
