• Jenette Stanley, a local Grand Junction woman, was tired of missing the birthdays and anniversaries of her friends and loved ones so she created a solution — Snail Mail Greetings, a Web-based greeting card service that will send the cards for you. Here's how it works:
Log on to SnailMailGreetings.net and create an account. Then, select a package of credits ranging from one to 50 credits. Credit prices range between $3 and $3.50 depending on the quantity — less than a typical person spends going to the store, purchasing the card, stamp and mailing the card.
Once you have an account and credits, enter the names and addresses of the people you want to send greeting cards to. Then, simply choose what cards to send, any personalization you want in the cards, and if you want the cards to renew and the frequency of renewal.
Five days prior to the date of a birthday, anniversary or other event, the card is selected, and personalized according to your direction. It is addressed to your loved one with your return address on the envelope. A stamp is then placed on the envelope and your card is mailed through the US Postal service, also known as snail mail.

Family Health West recently announced the opening of its Convenient Care, providing urgent care services to the community in the new hospital located at 300 W. Ottley Ave. in Fruita.
Formerly located in the Kokopelli Professional Plaza, Family Health West's Urgent Care Clinic has been offering after-hours physician care.
“We built the Urgent Care Clinic for patients who find themselves with a sudden illness or minor injury requiring prompt medical attention, but whose doctor is not available,” said Dennis Ficklin, Family Health West CEO, “Our after-hours physicians treat illnesses and injuries that require professional attention and have the potential to become serious if treatment is delayed longer than 24 hours.”
Family Health West Convenient Care can address non-emergent situations, freeing up the emergency department for patients who require more advanced care.
