Local Realtors attend state convention

Three local real estate brokers attended the Colorado State Convention last week in Colorado Springs.

Ann J.B. Hayes, Laureen Gutierrez and Lori Wood of Coldwell Banker Home Owners Realty attended association committee meetings, continuing education classes and two sales motivation speeches.

Hayes, a CAR Director for the Grand Junction Area Realtor Association (GJARA), attended the Colorado Association of Realtor's Board of Directors meeting and classes.

Gutierrez completed the Ombudsman Certification program which qualifies her to amicably negotiate differences between buyers, seller and/or brokers prior to mediation or arbitration.

Wood completed the Transnational Referral Certification program (TRC) which enables her to place and receive international referrals. She also attended the Global Marketing and International Taxation classes and the CAR Public Relations Committee meeting as GJARA's Public Relations Chair.

Andrea Haitz, Becky Quinn, Dianne Dinnel and JoAnn Hotimsky were the Keller Williams Grand Junction Realty POWER HOUR winners that won paid admission fees to the fourth annual Keller Williams Colorado Rocky Mountain Summit at Keystone Oct. 5-7. This year's theme was “The Power of One,” and attracted 421 Colorado Keller Williams agents.

The Colorado Rocky Mountain Summit was designed to take Colorado Keller Williams agent's businesses to the next level through training in breakout sessions, keynote speakers, and statewide networking.

This year's keynote speakers were Clint Swindall, author of “Engaged Leadership,” and John G. Miller, author of “BQB! The Question Behind the Question.”

Keller Williams agents learned techniques to improve their businesses from breakout sessions which included such topics as Shifting Into Overdrive, Time Management, Distressed Property Marketing, Dealing with Price Reductions, DISC Relationships, Luxury Markets, Lead Generating, Leveraging Social Media, & Green Real Estate.

Education and networking were the main focus of the summit, but Keller Williams agents also participated in a fun night of song, dance and Wii bowling as well as an inspirational lunch.

The lunch showed Colorado Keller Williams agents where their nationally raised KW Cares contributions were going, viewed silent auction items, and held a live auction event with Greg Merschel (Grand Junction Keller Williams Agent) acting as the auctioneer.

Auctioneered items included a handmade quilt made by Keller Williams agents and donated Grand Valley wines. A total of $7,449 was raised at the event for KW Cares, the charitable organization of Keller Williams Realty.
