The call will go out at 7 p.m. to registered voters who own property within the boundaries of the possible annexation area.

Lost hunter found
Sunday morning, MC search & rescue volunteers located the 60-year-old hunter who was reported lost Saturday.
He was missing in the area of Hightower mountain.
Twenty-eight volunteers from the ground team, ATV team, and posse participated in the search. Along with the volunteers there was also help from several MCSO deputies and Division of Wildlife Officers. The man was found without injuries.
DUI diaries
From latest GJPD reports: James Schaefer, 24, was arrested after investigation revealed he drove a vehicle in a careless manner and got into an accident, drove under the influence of alcohol, left the scene of the accident, and had a child in the vehicle at the time.
Aubrey Kennedy, 30 was arrested and released on a summons for careless driving and DUI at 1130 Colorado Ave.
Christmas for the troops
Military Families of America will be holding a fundraiser on Sat., Oct. 24 in front of the Fruita City Market, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to collect snacks & personal care items for Christmas care packages. Narc bust
Jared Lee Fischer, 34, was arrested in the 600 block of Gunnison Ave. after a GJPD investigation revealed he was in possession of more than 8 oz. of marijuana, possession of marijuana concentrate, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule I substance. He is also suspected to have distributed the above illegal drugs. He was booked into the MCSO Jail.
‘Girls of Las Marias'

Luna Parsons, student at High Desert Martial Arts, reached her 8th level black patch and is one patch away from being a certified Muay Thai kickboxing instructor. Parsons, wife and mother of three, also holds a black belt in Jeet Kun Do and is ranked in Kali.

Creative Avenues announces its new theater program, the Youth Theater Project, and is looking for sponsors/donors to help. The program provides grades K-12 theater education and performance opportunities at no cost (students work under a structured volunteer program). Sponsors/donors are sought for upcoming 2010 season which includes 3 musicals, 2 plays, and 1 master workshop - 100% of support goes directly to supporting the Youth Theater Project. The GJHS Jazz Bands presents Swingin' Sweets Dance Nov. 6 with jazz music, dancing, espresso bar provided by Java Junction Coffee Shop and desserts from 7:30-10 p.m. It will be at the GJHS cafeteria at 1400 N. 5th St. Tickets available at Java Junction (2401 North Ave.) or from GJHS jazz students.
