The Glade Park Volunteer Fire Dept. would like to thank everyone who attended and sponsored Movies Under The Stars this summer.
The popular fundraiser raises 60% of money needed to operate. All firefighters are volunteers. It was a good year and they came very close to beating last year's sales. However, they did break their record for the biggest attendance night.

The College Board's Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. At Palisade High, four students rocked their AP exams: Alice Kerbein, Owen Gartner, Bryan Jacobson and Keenan Ventling.
Calling all crafters
If you have not already signed up for the Craft Fair at Two Rivers Convention Center or if you would prefer a more intimate venue, crafters are being sought for the annual craft show Oct. 24-25 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., WC Botanical Gardens, 655 Struthers. Pumpkin Chunkin'
Recycle your Halloween pumpkins by launching them at the annual Pumpkin Chunkin' on Sunday, Nov. 1, Canyon View Park, noon-2 p.m. Bring your old jack o' lanterns to launch for free or build your own launcher and compete for prizes. Additional pumpkins will be available to launch for $1 each. Launcher registration is due by Oct. 26 and requires a $5 registration fee. Info: Stacy, 245-3888.
