A series of public meetings about the possible annexation of the Clifton and Fruitvale areas into Grand Junction are scheduled to take place this week, officials said Monday.
The first meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grand Mesa Middle School, 585 31 ½ Road.
The second meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Clifton Elementary School, 3276 F Road.
The third meeting is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Clifton Community Hall, 126 Second St.
The idea is to give residents a chance to learn more about the possible annexation into Grand Junction.
A committee is moving forward with a petition drive to request that the city of Grand Junction annex the Clifton and Fruitvale areas. The committee is made up of residents who live in Clifton and Fruitvale.
