DUI chronicles
From GJPD reports: Aaron Gleave, 35 was arrested July 8 and released on a summons at 5th St and Ute Ave.; Jonathon Eaton, 29, was arrested July 8 and jailed after investigation showed he was DUI and had a revoked license, plus an active warrant; Ronald O'Gary, arrested July 8 and released to a sober party. He was busted 28 1/4 Rd and Hall Ave.
Summer camp openings

Congraduations
Lisa Adams of Grand Junction has graduated from Trinity University with a bachelor of arts degree in ancient Mediterranean studies and Spanish. Commencement exercises were held May 16 on the San Antonio campus. Now go take on the world.
Smarty pants alert
Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Ind., named Kaela Hellmann to the Dean's List for the spring 2009 semester. Kaela is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve G. Hellmann of Palisade. A student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale to earn academic honors at Saint Mary's.
Less for the landfills
Recycling this year at JUCO was a boon. Volunteers collected almost 17,000 plastic bottles and aluminum containers at this year's tourney. That's alot of water and soda consumed.
