Jim Spehar has more common sense and good judgment in his little finger than all three of the sitting Mesa County Commissioners combined.
I say that as one who managed the campaign of John Crouch to defeat Jim. I have been fortunate to have known personally some outstanding citizens in our community. Those like Jim Rob and Pat Gormley, and Jim Spehar rates right up there as one who has served his community well and unselfishly.
As for his comments on the fracking issue he is right. I resigned as regional superintendent of gas supply for a large transmission company and while not an expert know a few things about the subject. We cannot be too careful in protecting our ground water. Once contaminated it cannot be renewed so we must error on the side of extreme care in protecting that “non renewal and life sustaining resource.”
I look for good judgment in deciding who to listen to and believe and find that Jim's judgment is reliable and dependable on many subjects.
