Abuse hurts at any age

Text message trouble
Kelly Goode, 24, was contacted by GJPD at 755 Horizon Dr., where she was arrested for harassment, after an investigation revealed he had threatened the victim by text message. Goode was booked into MC Jail.
More school time
School District 51 has added two additional days of instructional time for students for the 2009-'10 school calendar year. Also, Nov. 25 has been changed to a school holiday to allow everyone additional time for Thanksgiving. Last day of school will be May 27, 2010.
Wanted man turns himself in
Mark Edward Young, 45, of 1640 P Road, wanted by MC Sheriff's for a shooting incident Tues. am at that Loma residence, walked into MCSO and turned himself in 2:30pm Tues, after which he was booked into jail. SWAT was called out Tues. am on a report that Young was shooting a high-powered rifle at people and cars.

Pool painting party
Young swimmers at Lincoln Park Pool Sat., June 12, 2-4 p.m. are invited to participate in the annual Kids Tile Painting Project. Wanted: kids 3-17 to create their own small masterpieces by painting a four inch ceramic tile. Supplies are provided.

Summer camps for kids
Geo Whiz camps hosted by Canyonlands Field Institute are available this summer at a reduced price for kids entering grades 4th-7th in the fall.
