The new waterslide at Moyer Pool in Lincoln Park is up and running for the summer.
The 37-foot-tall slide twists and turns for 350 feet before depositing swimmers into a splash tank at the bottom.
The slide was suppose to be replaced last year. However, delays kept it idle during the 2008 season.
While many in the Grand Valley were across the parking lot at Suplizio Field for JUCO on May 28, a dozen young swimmers opted to beat the heat by sliding down the big blue tube over and over again under the watcful eyes of lifeguards Maddie Orr and Stephen Couch.
The slide and the pool are open for public use from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and provide welcome relief to swimmers of all ages on hot summer days.
