Wheres Obama?
According to Paul Sweeney over at the VA, hes fielded several complaints from patients and visitors because President Obamas picture is not hanging in the VAs lobby yet. So heres what D.C. is saying: The Government Printing Office has not yet released the official portrait of the president.
The printing process for these portraits is tightly controlled by the GPO. The current expectation is that the presidents and the new Veterans Affairs secretarys portraits will be mailed sometime in March.
While some federal Web sites display a presidential portrait, these should not be used for public display.
As of this date, there are no official portraits of either the president or the secretary. Therefore, no facility should display an unofficial portrait.
