Marshall Priest

Marshall Priest of Grand Junction died Dec. 26 at the VA Medical Center after an illness. He was 55.

Marshall was born Dec. 17, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Henry and Mikie Lou Coates. He spent his childhood in Paragould, Ark., and graduated from Jonesboro High School.

Marshall entered in service with the United States Army in 1973, and during his military career he travelled to 38 countries and 48 states. He was an Army security agent and was honorably discharged in 1980. He was married to Constance Lewis; she preceded him in death.

Marshall previously lived in Colorado Springs before moving to Grand Junction five years ago. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed travelling, horseback riding, golf, photography and researching on the computer.

Marshall leaves behind his mother, Mikie Lou Coates, of Paragould, Ark.; brothers Thomas (Kim) Priest of Jonesboro, Ark., Alan (Becky) Priest of San Diego, Calif., Charles Priest of Jonesboro, Ark., and Mark (Carol) Coates of Paragould, Ark.; and sister Ann (Stan) Bryant of Paragould, Ark.

Marshall was preceded in death by his father, Henry Priest; sister Rhonda Moore; and stepfather, Joe Coates.

A memorial service is planned for next spring.Cremation arrangements are under the

care and direction of Martin Mortuary of Grand Junction.
