Earl Bernard Huff of Grand Junction died Nov. 27 at Community Hospital. He was 83.
Earl was born July 4, 1925, in Delta County to John A. and Brownie Mae (Fry) Huff.
He attended school up to the seventh grade, and he worked as a ranch hand in Delta County, where he lived for 80 years. The last three years of his life were spent in Grand Junction. He married Verda Gardner and they had two children, Edward and Nancy. They later divorced, and on Aug. 2, 1979, Earl married Arlene N. Slaughenhaupt. They had a daughter named Michelle.
Earl retired from Burkey Lumber as a lumberjack. He loved going for walks in the wilderness. He enjoyed fishing, old cars, playing cards, watching westerns, country music and especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene of Grand Junction; son Edward (June) Huff of Austin; daughters Nancy (Duane) Bloom of Delta and Michelle Huff of Grand Junction; sister Mary Ellen Arnold of Janesville, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Austin Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Arrangements are under the caring direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
