She was a longtime member of of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and worked in the churchs community service program and the home visitation program for shut-ins in Denver.
Phyllis favorite hobbies were reading, working crossword puzzles and caring for her plants. She loved the beauty and wonder of Gods creation: sunsets, thunderstorms, mountain scenes, and was a lover of beautiful music, poetry and prose. Most of all, she loved and treasured the people in her life; her family and friends. She always enjoyed recounting the good times she had experienced with each of them. And each one was kept faithfully in her daily prayers.
