Rockabilly, psychobilly, cowpunk. Whatever tag you want to put on it, theres a ton Friday night at the Mesa Theater and Club.
Los Angeles-based trio Three Bad Jacks is headlining a night featuring three bands, including Buckwild and Them Damned Young Livers.
Three Bad Jacks online biography touts past performances with the likes of Joe Strummer, Dwight Yoakam and Social Distortion.
The Rockabilly Review, an industry publication, praised the bands tribute to classic rockabilly sounds and classic rock n roll in the publications review of Hellbound Train.
That includes a version of Motorheads Ace of Spades.
Rumor has it Lemmy is on the prowl looking to kill these guys for doing the song better than Motorhead has ever done it, Rockabilly Review wrote.
Not be overlooked, Denvers Buckwild is returning for their second Grand Junction show since the bands infamous performance at the Spotlight Lounge in June 2007.
Roughly halfway through the show, a misguided, likely substance-impaired pickup truck driver smashed through the roundabout at Seventh Street and Main, before hitting a van rented by the band for the trip to Grand Junction.
The band played on wrecked ride and all.
All longtime Denver music scene movers, Buckwild has opened for acts such as Reverend Horton Heat and The Beat Farmers.
