Marjorie Richardson, age 71, died July 11 at her home.
Marjorie was born April 9, 1937, in Lubbock, Texas, to Loyd and Lela Clark. She married Keith Richardson on April 1, 1956, whom she loved and cherished for over 52 years. He survives. Together they had five children: Kathy Richardson, Tammie (Steve) Vanderheiden and Kay (David) Hilgenfeld, all of Grand Junction; Michael (Kristine) Richardson and Lisa (Nathan) Short, of Crowley, Texas; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Marjorie worked for many years. But her passion for God was most important, and it showed in her love for her church, family and especially children. She owned and operated a day care center in Texas for 10 years and became Mema to over 200 children. Shes still known as Mema to those who know and love her. She was a member of Jubilee Family Church of God since 1963, and was serving on the Womens Ministry Board at the time of her death. During the holidays she sold home-baked goods, then donated the proceeds to the Smoky Mountain Home for Children in Sevierville, Tenn.
