Fern Marie Fox of Grand Junction died June 17 at St. Marys Hospital. She was 84.
Fern was born on Sept. 18, 1923, to Clifford and Hazel Middleton-Liester in Hoxie, Kan.
On June 1, 1944, Fern married Junior E. Red Fox in Colby, Kan., and from this loving union three daughters were born.
Fern enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, camping and fishing. She was a homemaker, taking care of the family and helping Red on their farm in Calhan, Colo.
Later the family would move to Colorado Springs, where they would live for 37 years before moving to Grand Junction. Fern and Red were married for 59 years until Reds passing on April 6, 2004, in Grand Junction.
Fern leaves behind daughters Roberta Kay (Raymond) Tunink of Gilbert, Ariz., Hazel F. (Rick) Branstiter of Grand Junction and Vickie A. (Dennis) Tice of Grand Ledge, Mich. Other survivors include sister Twilla Miller of Spearsville, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Fern joins one grandchild; two brothers, Clifford and Leland; sister Laura; and her husband, Red, in a heavenly reunion.
A graveside service was held June 20 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Nick Tompkins officiating.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Martin Mortuary.
