Victoria L. Hutmacher

Victoria L. Hutmacher, a resident of Grand Junction since 2001, died May 14 at Mesa Manor following a brief illness.

Born Victoria Rozak Dec. 2, 1911, in Streator, Ill., she graduated from Streator High School in 1930 and Normal College (now Illinois State University) in 1934.

Victoria married Paul Hutmacher in 1936. They resided in Freeport, Ill., for 65 years, and after raising a son, she worked for 22 years as an insurance underwriter for General Casualty Insurance Company. She was active in her Catholic community, volunteered for the American Red Cross in emergency services and was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by a son, Andrew; a daughter-in-law, Dianne; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Arrangements are under the care of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
