James Williams and company are throwing a party Saturday.

The occasion: Williams says it’s all about one of the better-produced recordings from the Williams Brothers Band.

“This just went way beyond anything we expected,” Williams said Thursday. “We want to give back Saturday to everybody who’s been supporting us over the years.”

Copies of the band’s latest effort — “Live in Aspen,” recorded last year at Aspen’s Belly Up bar — will be sold during Saturday’s show, which is tentatively set to get underway around 9 p.m.

The recording’s official release date is May 20, although it’s available now at The Muse, 126 S. Park Square.

Pineapple Crackers, among others, will be on hand.

“We might do two sets depending on how the night goes,” Williams said.

There’s an $8 charge at the door for the all-ages show.

Williams Brothers are riding a wave of successes: The first cut on the new live album, “Circle,” was nominated for Best Rock Song by the International Association of Independent Artists.

They’re scheduled to play the Desert Rocks festival next week in Moab, which will be followed up by a series of concerts in California, ending in the band’s native Bay Area.
