Bonnie Josephine Jurgens

Bonnie Josephine Jurgens died at her Grand Junction home on May 12. She was 77.

Bonnie was born to Fred and Blanche Schafer in Ludlow, Ill. Bonnie and Mel married on Sept. 9, 1951.

Bonnie’s first love was her family as a devoted mother, grandmother and loving wife. Bonnie was also an active member of PEO, Chapter CY, for over 20 years.

Bonnie’s survivors include her husband, Mel; children Todd Jurgens of Grand Junction and Heather Wortinger of Westminster; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Bernie (Twyla) Schafer of Mesa, Ariz.; and sister-in-law Rose Schafer of Monroe, Wisc.

Her brother Donald Schafer preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado at P. O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
