Delta resident Bruce H. Huntley died Friday, May 9, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 58.

Bruce was born in Du Quoin, Ill., on March 9, 1950, to Robert and Mary (Snider) Huntley. He spent his childhood and graduated high school in Du Quoin and attended Southern Illinois University.

Bruce married the love of his life, Jana Johnson, on March 24, 1979, in Rawlins, Wyo. She survives.

A coal miner, Bruce enjoyed his work and his greatest love and enjoyment was his family.

Those grateful to have shared in his life include his wife, Jana of Delta; sons Andy (Stacey) Huntley of Delta, Alex Huntley and Kyle Huntley also of Delta; daughter Leanna Huntley of Delta; sister Marilyn Cannady of Belleville, Ill.; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Huntley.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Delta Taylor Funeral Service Chapel.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
