Amiel “Paul” Marconnetti died March 30. He was 72.
He was born in Hanston, Kan., to William Edward Marconnetti and Clara I (Fakes) Marconnetti. He graduated from Larnerd High School in Kansas and attended Dodge City Community College.
Paul married Iris W. Krupp Aug. 23, 1956, in the Lutheran Church in Larnerd, Kan. Four children were born from this union. He lived most of his life in Colorado.
A carpenter by trade, he moved his family to Grand Junction in the early 1970s. He worked for Velo Drilling Co. in the 1970s and in the Mincon coal mine. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, boating and his favorite, raising Dachshunds dogs.
He belonged to the B.P.O. Elks in Texas and Colorado and the Moose Lodge in Kansas, Texas and Colorado.
Through trials and tribulations he really loved life and his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Survivors include his children Suzanne Kay, Kimberly Beth (Dennis) Knight, Todd Amiel and Kevin Lynn; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; sister Ellen Herman of Ensign, Kan.; brothers Olen Marconnetti of Wellsville, Kan., and Carrey Marconnetti of California; and special friends Bob and Janelle Brooks of Woodville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold, Vernon Pearl and Alva Ray.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later day in Woodville, Texas.
