Mary “Violet” Pech, a resident of Cory, died Thursday, April 17, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 88.
Mary was born on May 17, 1919, in Brighton, the daughter of Harry and Betty Howe.
She married Richard Pech on May 13, 1937, in Brighton. They made their home in Littleton until 1976, when they moved to Cory.
Violet was a member of the Orchard City Women’s Club. She loved swimming in her younger years in Littleton, reading, watching movies, knitting and crocheting. She was employed at Montgomery Ward, J.C. Penney and in the lunchroom at Grant Junior High in Littleton. Violet also earned a certificate from an interior design school.
Violet will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and by all the beautiful hats she wore.
Violet is survived by her children Joseph “Gary” (MaryAnn) Pech of Eckert, Lorraine Neumann of Cory, Bruce (Arleta) Pech of Arvada and Patricia Camp of Thornton. Violet is further survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard James Pech; her parents; and sister Ana Irene Carnal.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Chaplain Jane Dupree presiding. Services conclude at the mortuary.
