GRAND JUNCTION — Mesa State College’s 32nd annual Juried Student Art Exhibition begins today in the Atrium Gallery at The Art Center, 1803 N. Seventh St.

Students and staff will display their work between March 28 and April 9. Pieces from students will be judged and sold at a public gallery talk and opening reception from 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 4 at The Art Center.

Jurors will hand out 11 awards at the reception, including best of show; first, second and third places; and honorable mentions. Winners will receive gift cards to Jerry’s Artarama in Englewood.

The theme for this year’s show is “Art Slingers.” Artwork will come from students at Mesa State campuses in Grand Junction, Montrose, Glenwood Springs and Western Colorado Community College.

The spring 2008 art exhibitions and management class at Mesa State College is organizing the art show.

Sponsors include Williams Energy, Halliburton Energy Services, Firelight Design & Sign Studio and Screen Image Inc.
