GRAND JUNCTION — Mesa State College Associated Student Government’s first disability awareness event has moved to April 2.
The event was originally scheduled for today and Friday.
The event will feature a disabilities educational fair and a performance by California musician Mark “Big Toe” Goffeney. Goffeney was born without arms and plays the guitar with his feet. He will play at 7 p.m. April 2 in Mesa State’s academic quad. All events are free and open to anyone.
ASG Disabilities Senator Lanae Squires started the event, which will teach people about living with disabilities, said ASG Director of Finance Casey Kodani.
“She wanted to do her part as a senator and teach other students about living with a disability and built awareness about it and inform the public,” Kodani said.
Colorado Springs comedian Chris “Crazy Legs” Fonseca, who has cerebral palsy, canceled his appearance at the event.
