Authorities investigating Paige Birgfelds disappearance searched a Pear Park home Wednesday the second search warrant executed there in six days.
Mesa County Sheriffs investigators, accompanied by crime scene technicians with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, arrived at 3072 Hill Ave., in Pear Park, around 8:30 a.m. CBI staff packed up around noon while local investigators stayed through late afternoon.
The search warrant was one of two executed by investigators on Wednesday related to Birgfelds case. Mesa County Sheriff Stan Hilkey declined to identify the second property searched.
All along weve been narrowing our persons of interest, Hilkey said. Part of our interest is on a resident of that (3072 Hill Ave.) household.
Hilkey declined to elaborate.
Elaine and Ralph Jones, the homes residents, were not around and authorities declined to say if they were interviewed.
Mesa County Assessor records show Elaine J. Jones as the homeowner.
Michelle Quinlivan and her daughter, Summer, live across the street at 3071 Hill Ave. They said they watched about 10 investigators rifle through a trash bin at the curb, while taking photographs and video both inside and along the exterior of the property.
Investigators removed a host of items from the house last Thursday, according to the Quinlivans.
The family said a bed liner from a truck was taken from a backyard shed, while what appeared to be a smaller piece of bed liner was removed from the garage.
Investigators also carried away five to six paper evidence bags.
They seemed real interested in the backyard and garage, Michelle Quinlivan said.
The Quinlivans and others on the street said they didnt know their neighbors very well.
Youd maybe get a waive when youre backing out ... they keep to themselves but theyre always friendly, Michelle Quinlivan said.
Its kind of a shocker.
Frank Birgfeld, father of the missing 34-year-old Grand Junction woman, said he learned about the search warrant while hiking on a mesa south of the city, after receiving a phone call from a reporter in New York City.
Birgfeld again participated in a foot search south of Grand Junction on Highway 50, up mesas, down back roads along waterways.
Weve found a lot of cow patties ... thats our specialty today, Birgfeld said.
I hope this is progress, but I havent been looking for a perpetrator. Im still looking for my daughter, he said of the warrants.
Paige Birgfeld was last heard from on the night of June 28, driving to her north Grand Junction home after spending the day in Eagle.
